Two reasons I think Elizabeth A. is Alice. one, Elizabeth A. Two, the research of Straub Aunkst names the wife of John McKean as Alice Elizabeth Arney. Alice's death certificate lists her father as John Arney & her mother as unknown.. but I'm trusting the census over that info. (John Elias? Elias John? Possible)

In 1915, Murray married Elta Toole in New York. They remained in New York for a few years, before returning to Lycoming County in 1920, then moving to Allenwood. His mother Alice lived with his family, at the time of her death in 1935.
In April of 1945, two of Murray and Elta's sons - Wallace Gordon Aunkst, 28, of Allenwood R. D., father of four children, & William Aunkst, 15 - drowned at the ordinance dam in the Susquehanna river.
"State police said the fatal accident occurred about 7:20 Sunday when the brothers went in a leaky rowboat to retrieve another boat which Wallace thought had drifted from its mooring near farm. Aunkst lived with his wife and four children on a farm in the vicinity of the ordnance depot pump station, about half a mile from the main highway leading to Lewisburg. State police said that apparently a strong back current near the dam caught the boat and upset it, throwing the two into the river.
Police said that Wallace could not swim and that apparently his body drifted over the dam and went on down stream. Earl was a student in the eighth grade at the Montgomery-Clinton High School.
By 1950, Murray and Elta were separated, Elta lived with her son Bruce. When Harley died, in 1956, he was married to Jesse Welsh Aunkst. 1900 - Census

1917 - John's brother Daniel Emera Aunkst Died.
Daniel was born in 1855, and lived most of his adult life in Milton Pa. Unmarried and childless, he left his estate to his mother, siblings, and nieces and nephews.
The Harrisburg Telegraph reported, 12/10/1928, "Two persons were killed and thrirteen were injured, five seriously, in a series of motor car accidents occurring in Lancaster County and Vicinity over the week-end. Sunday melting snows made highways exceedingly dangerous when the freezing temperatures covered the roads with a thin layer of ice."
One of those accidents involved Alice, who was visiting with her sister Emma.
On December 9th 1928, Emma [Arney] Leiby, Husband John Leiby, and Emma's sister Alice [Arney] Aunkst were riding in the back seat of an automobile driven by Jerome Burkpile - the Leiby's son in law. Jerome & his wife Lucy [Leiby] Burpile were in the front seat. Their sedan skidded of the Lancaster-Harrisburg pike in Salunga, and crashed into a pole.
John, Alice and Emma were listed as in critical condition in local hospitals. "Burkpile and his wife suffered only minor injuries, but the three occupants in the rear seat were critically injured when they were hurled from the car."
Alice's injuries were not too serious. John Leiby "received lacerations and bruises". Emma however, suffered a fractured skull. She died from her injuries, 8 days later, on December 17th 1928.
The Burkpile's address was given as 1718 Burbank Street, Penbrook. [In many of the articles at first list Alice as "Mrs Allen Aunkst of Allenwood". Later articles refer to her as Mrs. J. Aunkst]
1935 - Alice Died
