Sons: 1. Franklin d. 1939, John d. 1923, Jefferson d. 1937, Philip d.1925
-this means Daniel or Henry most likely died after 1916)

1824 - Jacob Confer is born
Sources: Death certificate, Tombstone
Parents - On his death certificate, his father is listed as Peter, his mother as Unknown.
Jacob died age 92, his occupation is listed as Farmer.

My mom's DNA results are consistently connecting her to Peter Coonfare 1792-1811 married Eva Elis Fessler.

1827  - Julia Ann Martha Andes Is Born
Source: tombstone
Parents are Daniel& Christiann (Cromley) Confer
source???

Bef 1847 - Jacob married Julia Ann Andes
(Isaac was born in 1878)

1847 - Son Isaac Confer is born
Isaac Confer was born September 5 1847
He married Lydia Jane Crossley
Isaac & Lydia are Heather's great great grandparents, you can read more about them here: http://heathersgen.blogspot.com/2011/05/isaac-confer-1848-1910.html
Isaac died April 30 1910. Him & Lydia are buried with the Crossley's in Longs Cemetery, Montour County Pa.

1849 - Rosanna Amelia Confer is Born
April 4 1849
Died February 10 1920
Although her death certificate does appear to say she was born in 1847, her tombstone says 1849.  Since Isaac was born in September of 1847, and the census records are consistent with her being born in 1849, I think the tombstone is correct.

She married Solomon Dewalt.  From his find a grave entry - "Solomon was born in Fishing Creek Township and died in Scott Township, he was married only once to Rosanna Confer. Together they had 14 children, 10 living to adulthood."
They are buried in Hendrickson Cemetery, Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania, USA

1850 Abt, Son Daniel Confer is born
Daniel appears in the 1860 and 1870 census with his parents, but I cannot locate him after that.  I cannot find a death certificate for him in Pa, nor can I find him on Find A Grave.

The Daniel in Allentown, married to Emma, is NOT a match for this Daniel.  (That Daniel is son of Noah Confer)

1852- Franklin Pierce Confer is born
Born April 12 1852

In 1916 Montgomery Confer, son of Isaac, fell off a load of straw and was severely injured.  An article in the Danville Morning News November 2 1916 tells us:
"During Mr. Confer's absence his farm would have fared very badly, had it not been that his place has been filled by his uncle F.P. Confer of Warriors Mark, Huntingdon County, who arrived here a couple of days after the accident occurred.  He has very ably superintended the affairs of the farm and has himself worked very hard. The result is that not only is the corn husked but all the other work of the farm is carried out as far along as is usual this time of year."

"   Franklin Pierce Confer, a retired farmer and resident of Warriors Mark for the past 48 years, died at his home at Warriors Mark Wednesday morning Feb 22, 1939, at 7:15 o'clock of diseases incident to old age. He had been ill only a few days.
Mr. Confer was a son of Jacob and Martha (Andes) Confer, and was born at Jerseytown, Lycoming county, on April 24, 1852. On December 25, 1873, at Bellefonte, he was united in marriage with Mary Adams.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, H. T. Confer of Altoona and C. E. Confer, at home; also 11 grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Martha Carns, of Bloomsburg and Mrs. Linda Weliver, Berwick.
He was a member of the Warrior's Mark Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. David M. Kerr at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Warrior's Mark Methodist Church. Interment in Lurket (sic) cemetery, Warriors Mark. The body may be viewed at the Cox funeral home in Warriors Mark.

Added details from a second obit:
Franklin Pierce Confer …Warriors Mark, where he had resided for the past forty-eight years….wife, Mrs. Mary Adams… "
Frank died February 22 1939. He's buried in Huntingdon PA

(Be careful when researching, there is also a Franklin P. Confer, son of George & Mary Confer, in Armstrong County PA in 1860 - born about 1853)

1854 - Son John Confer is Born
December 9 1854

In 1870 there is another John, John M. Confer in Lycoming County, living with the Ring family.  Our John is living at home in 1870.  There's a 3rd John Henry Confer in Centre county, son of Peter & Susan Confer. (I believe this John later married a Sophia) There's also a John Confer born in March of 1854, him and his wife Johanna are buried in Maryland.

In 1910 our John is found in Blair Pa, as a servant in the household of Lyman & Margaret Hay.  He's listed as single.
Because the 1910 census specifies that John was born in December 1854, I feel confident this is the correct John

In 1920, we find our John Confer living with Clement E. Roth, & his wife Cora
John is listed as single, and as a servant.  Cora's maiden name is Houseknect, she does not appear to be any relation to John.
C.E. Roth was the informant for John's death certificate, leading me to believe that he had no family nearby, and lived with the Roth's still when he died.  But he knew enough to get John's mothers name right, so there might be a connection somewhere?

His death certificate incorrectly lists his father as Philip, but gets his mother correct as Julia Ande.  It also says that he was married, but he's single in every census I have found him in so far.
John Died March 8 1923, in Sugarloaf, Luzerne County Pa

He's buried in Conyngham PA.

1855 - Son Henry Confer is Born
Henry is listed in the 1860 & 1870 census with his parents.

There is a Henry Confer in Danville, born around 1852, died February 28 1927.  This is not our Henry. the brothers listed in that Henry's obit do not match our family at all, and he's about 4 years older than our Henry.
There's also a John Henry Confer, son of Peter & Susan, who married Sophia.  Not our John.
And a Henry M. Confer, son of Michael & Rebecca Mann, in Center county, also not a match.

There is a Henrey Confer, age 25 in the 1880 census in Madison Twp, Columbia County, married to a Kate Confer, age 21.  I think this is the most likely match for our Henry.  But I have no idea where they are in 1900.

1856 - Son Jefferson F. Confer Was Born
November 1 1856
In 1910, Jefferson visited his brother Franklin Pierce Confer, after the funeral for their brother Isaac.
Son of Jacob and July Ann Martha Andes Confer he married Harriet Louise Croup and had the following children: Edwin Clyde, Vernie Olive, Kathryn Elizabeth, an infant, Dora Mae, Mary Gertrude, Belle Ruth, Edith Priscilla and Miriam C.
Jefferson died July 14 1937, age 80.
They are buried at Trinity UCC Cemetery,(Strawberry Ridge) Derry Twp, Montour County PA.

1859 - Son Peter Confer is Born
Peter's sister Emma Jane was born in August of 1860, so Peter had to be born in 1859?
Peter does not appear in the 1870 census with his family, so we assume he died before age 10.

In 1880 we find Emma in the home of John & Mary Blee, as a servant.
She married Charles Myers. Thier marriage is recorded in the Trinity UCC Church, Turbotville Pa, records.
Their children included: Ida P, Bruce Livingston, Grace E., Margaret E, and Sadie.
Died August 26, 1929,  in Columbia County PA.

They are buried in Benton Cemetery, Benton, Columbia County PA.

1861 - Daughter Martha is born
November 30 1861
listed as "Mattie" in the 1870 census, her death certificate, which lists Jacob as her father and Columbia County as her place of birth, tells us that she is Martha who married Jesse C. Karns

Martha Married Jesse Carlton Karns about 1881.  They had two children, Oscar & Nellie.
It appears from the census that they ran a boarding house at 401 east 4th Street, Bloomsburg PA.  The 1920 census shows them with 5 boarders.  In 1930 Martha is a widow with 2 boarders, and in 1940 there are no boarders listed, but her daughter Nellie is living with her.
According to Zillow, the house at 401 E. 4th St was built in 1890.

Martha died May 18 1946 in Columbia County PA.
Jesse's death certificate tells us he is buried in Almedia Cemetery, which is actually Creveling Cemetery in Almedia Pa. Both Martha & Jesse are buried there.

1864 - Daughter Mary Malinda Confer was born
Born August 27 1864
"Aunt Lindy"
Born to parents Jacob and Julie Ann Confer she married Jacob Harvey Welliver Dec 21, 1894 and had at least the following children: Margareth, Eva and Leona.  Robert Died age 11 in 1911.
Malinda died October 6 1958
They are buried in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia County PA.

1869 - Son Philip Confer is born
Born March 13 1870

In 1910 & 1920 Philip is on Mausdale Rd, Danville, Pa, with housekeeper Hannah (Umstead) Taylor, a widow. In 1910, Hannah's children live with them.  Hannah also supplied the information for his death certificate.
Philip is listed as working in the Iron Mill.

Philip died in March 31, 1925, from a splinter that caused blood poisoning.  He was unmarried.

The Morning News, 1 Apr 1925, Wed, Page 1
At Philip's funeral, two of Hannah Taylor's sons are pallbearers.  His brother in law Jacob Welliver is also a pallbearer.
