Ella and Annie have both aged about 10 years from the 1870 census above, so it looks likely that that census IS our Charles.  Cora has disappeared..  she would have been 14, so she could be living in another home working, or she could have died?  Howard is our direct line, and appears on his first census here, at age 4.
Sarah's nickname was "Sallie" .

23 Oct 1919 - Sarah Ann Died
Name: Mrs Sarah A Smith
[Mrs Sarah A Hagerman]
Gender: Female
Race: White
Age: 80
Birth Date: 22 Aug 1839
Birth Place: Pennsylvania
Death Date: 23 Oct 1919
Death Place: Limestone, Montour, Pennsylvania, USA
Father Name: Eumalin Hagerman
Father Birth Place: Pennsylvania
Mother Name: Katharyne Weidman
Mother Birth Place: Pennsylvania
Certificate Number: 105683

Interesting that Alice (Hagerman) McHenry gives her grandfathers name as "Eumalin" (as opposed to Mahlon).  She would have been 42 when he died, and lived in the same area as him, it seems odd that she would have gotten this wrong.  She also spelled her grandmothers name as Kathryne, instead of the much more likely Catherine.  Sarah's marriage record above lists her parents as Mahlon & Catherine.

1920
Sallie is shown living with her daughter Mary Alice McHenry.  Which we know is not possible, since she died in October of the year before.  This census record shows it as being taken on January 3rd 1920, 3 months after Sarah's death.  Sarah's death certificate is filled out by "Mrs Arden McHenry" - the same daughter she is shown with in the census in 1920, and Sarah is listed as the "mother in law" of the head of house Arden McHenry, so I'm really certain Sallie & Sarah are one and the same, but cannot explain why she is in the census 3 months after her death.
