1762/63 Samuel Musse married Maria Magdalena Tusing.

Samuel Muse was listed as single  in the 1762 tax list for Whitehall Township, Northampton Co, Pa.

His first daughter was born in 1763, so he was likely married in late 62 or early 63,

1763 Daughter Anna Margaretha was born 
Their first child, Anna Margaretha, was born 29 Nov 1763 and christened at the Jordan Lutheran Church on 25 Dec 1763.The sponsors for her baptism were Paul Tusing and wife, Anna Margaretha. Parents names are listed as "Samuel Musy and wife Magdalena."

A son, Samuel Muse, was born 30 Sept 1765 to Samuel and Maria Magdalena Muse and baptized 1 Oct 1765 at Jordan Lutheran Church, Whitehall Township, Northampton Co, Pa.His only sponsor was Daniel Gros, Pastor of the Jordan Reformed Church.(The Lutheran and Reformed congregations shared the Jordan Church for a time.) 

1768 Land Warrant

On 5 Aug 1768 applications for land were made by Samuel "Mussee", # 104, East Side for 50 acres in Macuncie Township, Northampton Co, and #225, East Side for 25 acres in Whitehall Township, Northampton Co.

On 30 Aug 1768, Samuel Musey took out application #3543, East Side for two tracts of land totaling about 151 1/2 acres in Whitehall Township, Northampton Co. 

Before 1769  Magdalena Tusing Musse died
"Maria Magdalena Muse might have died in childbirth or been killed in the Indian troubles that were prevalent in Northampton County in the 1760s. Either event might be the cause of her son Samuel's mental condition noted later in court records.She probably died before 1769. Around 1769 Samuel Muse married Dorothea Mussgenug, daughter of Jacob Mussgenug (one of Samuel's fellow passengers on the ship Nancy in 1752) of Weisenberg Township, Northampton County. 

Dorothea Mussgenug came to America with her Parents, Jacob andAnna Margaret(Fuger) Mussgenug, two brothers and four sisters on the ship "Nancy" in 1752 at the age of seven.  She married Samuel Musse/Musick around 1769.Samuel died in 1780.

1775 Son Anthony Muse Is Born
"Anthony Musick, born 16 Sept 1775, son of Samuel Musick of Whitehall, who died in 1780, and his wife Dorothea Musgening.""Penna. Births, Lehigh Co., 1734-1800" lists Anthony, born 16 Sept 1775, father: Samuel Muse, mother: Dorothea, Jordan Reformed Church, Whitehall Twp. 

1780 Samuel Musse Died
Samuel Musse/Musick died 5 March 1780 (calculated from the birth of daughter Salome) (birth record at Jordan Reformed Church states that she was born 13 Sept 1780, 6 months and 7 days after her father's death.)

Samuel's wife Dorothea and her father, Jacob Mussgenug, were appointed executors of the estate.Samuel left land and possessions that were eventually valued at over 668 pounds. 

According to Orphans Court records 22 Jun 1780 in Northampton County, Dorothea Musick petitioned the court to appoint guardians for two children above the age of fourteen, possessed of some considerable real estate.

Margaret, being the eldest (age 17), chose her own guardian, Leonard Steininger of Whitehall Township, a neighbor of her parents.

Dorothea petitioned to let Margaret choose a guardian for her brother, Samuel, as "though having attained the age of fourteen and upwards, (he was 15) from a weakness in his understanding is scarceable to chuse (sic) a guardian for himself..."  The court chose George Hoffman of Macuncie Township for his guardian.

Another petition on 20 Jun 1782 made "Gottfried Knause and Benedict Nadlinger guardians of the persons and estates of the other minor children of Samuel Moosich:  Elizabeth, David, Anthony, Mary Barbara, Eva Catharine, and Mary Salome." 

1778 Dorthea (Mussgening) Musse

Dorothea (Mussgening) Musick remarried to Andrew Knedler before June 1788.

A petition filed on 21 Jun 1788, in the name of "Samuel Musick, eldest son and heir at law of Samuel Musich, late of Whitehall states that Samuel Musich died intestate leaving a widow who has since intermarried to a certain Andrew Knedler."

The Jordan Lutheran Church records show the birth of two children to Dorothea and Andrew Knedler, Johannes Knedler, born 2 May 1789 and Johan Caspar Knedler, born 16 Oct 1790.  Andrew Knedler may have died in early or mid 1790, as he is not listed on the 1790 census for Pennsylvania, but there is a "widow Musick" in Whitehall Township, Northampton County.

1795 - Dorothea files a petition on behalf of her children
On 8 April 1795 Dorothea filed a petition with the Orphans Court in Whitehall Township on behalf of the children:

"On the petition of Dorothea Knoedler, now the wife of Andrew Knoedler, late the widow of Samuel Musick, of Whitehall Township, deceased, setting forth that the said Samuel Musick about fifteen years ago died intestate, leaving the petitioner his widow and eight children, vizt:
Samuel, his oldest son who by an inquest has been found to be insane in mind and for whom the court of common pleas have appointed commissioners, 
Margaret married to George Gramlich, David, Elizabeth married to John Flexer, Anthony, Barbara, Catharine, and Salome."

"The petition goes on to request a partition of Samuel Musick's land between the children, or if not feasible, an appraisal.Later, David Musick, second son of the deceased and brothers & sisters accepted the land and premises with a valuation of 668 pounds, 8 shillings, and 4 pence. 
A set of property deeds in Northampton county shows that:In April 1807, there is a release of dower from Dorothea Knedler to David Musick and a record of the sale of land from David Musick to Daniel Good and Philip Heninger. 
Another deed shows David Musick and wife, Elizabeth transferring land to his brother, Anthony on the 6th of May 1807. 

1813 - Dorthea Died
An administration was entered on 13 May 1813 for the estate of Dorothea Knedler, with her son, Anthony the administrator.
