Aug. 2, 1687; m. 1st, May 1, 1712, Adriaentje Van Wyck, both of Flatbush at date of marriage; m. 2nd Feb. 6, 1714, Sarah dau. of Jan Dirckse Vander Vliet; d. 1741. Resided at one period at Gowanus, owning the farm late of Theodorus Bergen and adjoining land, which he sold May 10, 1734, to Corrnelius Santford, and (sup.) then removed to Jamaica. In 1716 a Joseph Hegeman mem. of Assembly for Kings Co. Issue:--Ariaentje, bp. 1716; John, bp. 1716; Hendrick, bp. 1717 in Jamaica; Joseph, bp. 1719; Cornelis, bp. 1722; Elizabeth, bp. 1723; Sarah, bp. 1725; Rem, bp. Sept. 25, 1726, m. Dec. 3, 1748 Metje Suydam; and Maria, bp. 1736. Signed his name "Joseph Hegeman."
