 ALBERT WILLEMSE COUWENHOVEN or KOUWENHOVEN eighth child of William Gerretse Couwenhoven No 7 was born December 7 1676 and died in September 1748 He was born either in Brooklyn or Flatlands and moved to Monmouth County New Jersey where he settled in Marlboro then in Freehold Township on what is now the property of Mr Selah Wells His name first appears on the records of the Freehold Dutch Reformed Church in 1709 His name and that of Neeltje or Eleanor daughter of Roelof Martense Schenck and his wife Annetje Wyckoff are found among the communicants of the Brick Church in 1709 His Dutch Bible is still in existence with the dates of the births of all his sons and daughters entered in his own handwriting A copy of this record is given with other Bible records at the end of this work Albert Welles in his Conover Family 1881 gives the date of his marriage as 1701 Eleanor Schenck was born January 23 1681 and died July 27 1751 Issue 24

The Inventory of Albert Covenhoven was taken (£1800.12.3) includes 203 acres of land, piece of salt meadow, negros (man, woman and 4 children), loom, oyster tongs, Bible; made by William Williamson, Willem Couvenhoven and Matteys Piterson. Signed "Neltje Couenhouen." on Nov 21, 1748.
