Surname Saturday

All Located Primarily in Central Pennsylvania
Links to the right, under "labels" will show you all the posts, with all the information I have gathered and my research notes, on each line.

Currently I am working the most on the Brown and Smith lines, because family has recently shared a lot of photos for those two lines, and both are located in Montour County Pa, so it's convenient to work on them together. Both are difficult surnames - there are so many of them!  For Smith, I'm researching TWO lines, because Marion Smith (maiden name) married Lloyd William Smith. Ack!

SURNAME SATURDAY - Our Lines

How the lines all connect for us -

Heather Alice Sulouff (me)
  • Daughter of Carl Sulouff and June Confer
  • Carl's parents are Carl Sulouff and Nina Lumbard
  • June's parents are Robert James Confer and FredaAikey
  • Freda's parents were Paul Aikey and Mary Oberdorf
Also on Heather's side are Scharf ancestors, through the Lumbard line.  Forney's through the Confer line,  and Ridge(cherokee indians) through the Lumbard line.

Heather married Daniel Ward Truckenmiller
  • son of Charles Frederick Truckenmiller and Patsy Ann Smith
  • Charles' parents were Ward Welsh Truckenmiller and Thelma Brown
  • Patsy's parents were Lloyd William Smith and Marion Lucille Smith.  No typo, her maiden name was Smith, then she married a Smith.
Also on Dan's side are Dieffenbachers, through the Smith line.

  • The Truckenmiller line is well documented, and traced back to Germany.
  • The Smith line is a tangled mess, but I'm straightening it out.
  • The Sulouff line is well researched and documented by Nelson Sulouff.
  • Lumbard's are at a dead end with who exactly Joseph Asher Lumbards father was, and where he came from.
  • The Oberdorf line is a brick wall for me, at the parents of John George Oberdorf
  • The Aikey line is a brick wall at the parents of Lewis Aikey
  • The Brown line is a brick wall at David Brown b. abt 1814 d. abt 1854, married Sarah Miller
  • The Confers I think we have WAY back, but I am waiting on some information to connect, form a cousin
